California Youth Soccer Assocation

The Montclair Soccer Club (MSC) is a member of The California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) District IV, which ranges from Vallejo to Castro Valley, and from Brentwood to the Bay. MSC plays in the Jack London Youth Soccer Sports League, which includes Oakland, Rockridge, Piedmont, West Oakland, Grass Valley, and Bay Oaks soccer clubs.

CYSA team classifications

Class IV
Most players are in recreational leagues on house teams. These are officially called Class IV teams. Recreational teams are open to all players, regardless of experience or ability.

Class III
Class III or Select teams are formed through tryouts and represent their club on a more competitive level in leagues formed from teams in CYSA District IV.

Class I
Class I is the most competitive level of youth soccer. MSC does not offer Class I teams.

The US Club Soccer- Norcal Premier Soccer League

Montclair Soccer recently joined the Norcal Premier Soccer League to offer our Class III teams greater flexibility, and competition with other similar competitive youth clubs outside the boundaries of CYSA District IV.

NorCal competitive teams move through flights based on game results, without reference to the old Class I or Class III designations. This supports well balanced, challenging flights, fostering player development and enjoyment. NorCal and US Club Soccer League
